HOURS BEFORE they went onstage, the members of Tokio Hotel – frontman Bill Kaulitz, his twin and guitarist Tom, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bass guitarist Georg Listing – met briefly with Malaysian media, where they chatted about their music and future plans.

"We're excited to see our fans for the second time," Bill said, "We've played one gig in Malaysia already, and our plan was definitely to come back soon. It's lucky that we can be here and we've brought some stuff from our European tour over. This time it’s going to be a little bit bigger!"

The boys also touched on one of their pet peeves: the fact that people still ask them the meaning of their band name. "We get used to it, but I think it's a little bit sad that people get the chance to see us and ask us questions, and they have no other questions than that!" Bill exclaimed.

But they have never thought of changing their name "because then we'd have to start all over again!"

They also chatted about a host of other topics, including Paul the Octopus ["He's a good friend of ours!"] stating that if they could, they would ask him whether or not they would be able to perform in Tokyo soon, a city they have yet to visit.

"I believe in a lot of strange stuff," the superstitious Bill said. "We all believe in aliens, for example. I think it's ridiculous to think we're the only ones (here). Because space is endless and there is definitely something out there!"

"That's (part of) our next goal," said Tom. "To play in Tokyo, to do a world tour, and to play on another planet!"

While their Humanoid... album has garnered a lot of success in both its German and English forms, it will be a while yet before fans can expect another biligual effort from the band.

"The problem is we will need about two years to produce the record," Tom said, "because we have to do everything twice! So instead of recording, say, 50 songs, now we have to record 100!"

"And I have to write the lyrics in two languages, so that's really a lot of work," added Bill. "So we're not really sure about that, but I think we can do a little bit here and there, but we definitely (still) want to make English songs, and because it's not a word-to-word translation, we like to think of it as two versions of one song, because sometimes the story is also different."

Right now, the boys remain focused on their performances and ensuring that they continue to work hard to keep entertaining their fans.

And best of all, they are looking forward to returning to Malaysia to play another concert in the future.
