We sneaked a few minutes with twin brothers Bill and Tom from the German pop-rock band. They were recently in town for the Audi Fashion Festival.
You guys walked the runway for Dsquared2. Any interest in becoming fashion designers at some point? Bill: This has always been a dream for us, and now that we are musicians, we have so many chances to work with fantastic photographers and designers. It would be a dream to design my own things. For the last tour I designed some of my own costumes too.
Besides your hairstyles, how can we tell you and Tom apart? Bill: Tom is the serious one. He handles the business side of things. But, we're like, one person. For the first six years of our life we looked the same because our parents gave us identical sweatshirts! After that we decided we wanted to look different from each other.
How have you dealt with the success of Tokio Hotel? Has it been really crazy? Bill: For the first few years it was really strange. We could no longer walk on the streets of Europe alone, or hang out with our friends and family the same way. We've also given up a lot of things, but the sacrifice has been worth it, because we really want to be musicians.
How long does it takes for you to get ready in the morning? Bill: (Laughs) You know, with the hair... Tom: Ten hours! Bill: I practice a lot because I do this every day, so now I take about 15 minutes. You need to have a messy hair to get a style this high - so I don't brush my hair often and I use lots of hairspray.
What do you think of Singapore? Bill: We are impressed. It's our first time here, and nobody told us how beautiful Singapore was! You have a jungle here and nice weather - Germany is just so cold! we are planning to bring the whole concert production here and do a tour, hopefully! It'll be cool to do a whole tour in Asia, and show you our Humanoid City and outfits.

KAWANKU: Hello srácok! Hogy vagytok? Meséljetek a legutóbbi albumotók promóciós turnéjáról!
BILL: Nagyszerűen érezzük magunkat. Most fejeztük be az európai turnénkat. Így, három hónapig voltunk úton és nagyon sok nagyszerű koncertünk volt Európában. Mindig is el akartunk jutni Ázsiába és izgatottak voltunk, hogy először láthassuk az ázsiai rajongóinkat. Nagyon jól érezzük magunkat!
KAWANKU: Malajzia előtt, hol koncerteztetek srácok?
TOM: Szingapúrban csak egy akusztikus fellépésünk volt és először láttuk az ottani rajongóinkat. Ez nagyon jó. Habár csak három napig voltunk ott, de azért nagyon örültünk.
KAWANKU: Van valamilyen különbség az európai és az ázsiai rajongóitok között?
BILL: Nagyon sok európai országban léptünk fel. Minden alkalommal mikor egy országban először találkozunk új rajongókkal, nagyon örülünk, de nincs különbség. Különösen mikor látjuk őket nevetni és sírni. Varázslatos pillanat.
KAWANKU: Tudjátok srácok, nagyon sok indonéz rajongótok van!
TOM: Tényleg? Hűha, ez nagyszerű. BILL: Igen, ez nagyon szuper! Mikor az otthonunktól távoli helyekre megyünk és a rajongók ott is végig velünk énekelnek, és mindent tudnak rólunk, az sokkol minket. Nagyon örülünk, hogy ezt hallhatjuk.
KAWANKU: Nagyon sok üzenetet (tweetet) kaptok a rajongóitoktól Indonéziában?
BILL: Hallottunk erről, hogy nagyon sok támogatónk van az interneten. De fogalmunk sem volt róla, hogy ilyen sok rajongónk van ott. Ez nagyon remek.
KAWANKU: Hallottatok már Indonéziáról?
TOM: Természetesen! De nem tudunk túl sokat róla. Ez az első látogatásunk Ázsiában. Hm... Tudod ez nagy meglepetés számunkra.
KAWANKU: Kinek nincs még barátnője?
BILL: Georgot kivéve, mindannyian egyedül vagyunk.
KAWANKU: Milyen lányok tetszenek nektek?
BILL: Öt éve nem volt barátnőm, mert még nem találtam meg a lelkitársam. Nincs kifejezett ízlésem a lányok terén, de első látásra meglátom. Hiszek ebben, szóval még mindig várok. GUSTAV: Egyetértek Billel, nekem sincs elképzelésem. Amíg találkozunk és működik. GEORG: Nagyon sok gyönyörű lány van ebben a világban. TOM: Igaza van Georgnak! Nekem ezt elég nehéz megmondani. Mindenhol gyönyörű lányokat láttunk, mint Szingapúrban is és a repülőtéren is mikor megérkeztünk Malajziaba. Mindenhol gyönyörű lányok vannak a világban, szóval nehéz megmondani. Nem bánom, ha a lányok szőkék vagy barnák, amíg találkozom vele, és tényleg érzem, hogy szeretem. Ez nem testiség, ez egyszerűen a szerelemről szól, hogy érezzem.
KAWANKU: Van bármilyen érdekes történetetek az iskolából, amit elmondanátok?
BILL: Nagyon rossz időszak volt számunkra az iskola. Mivel egy kis faluban nőttünk fel, idegennek éreztük magunkat egy másik bolygón. Mindig a zenére gondoltunk, nem úgy, mint a többi gyerek. Nagyon sok problémám volt a tanárokkal és az osztálytársakkal. Nagyon rosszak voltunk az iskolában. Hahaha.
KAWANKU: Hogyan készült a második angol nyelvű albumotok, a "Humanoid"?
BILL: Közel egy évig dolgoztunk a stúdióban ezen az albumon. Nem volt rajtunk nyomás, a lemezcégtől, sem senki mástól. Szóval volt időnk pihenni és új hangzást kialakítani. Nagyon sok új dolgot kipróbáltunk, miközben ezt az albumot készítettük. A korábbi albumainkat egy stúdióban készítettük Németországban, de ezúttal különböző stúdiókba készítettük Németországban és az Egyesült Államokban, például Los Angelesben és Miamiban, szóval nagyon sok országból új hatások értek. TOM: Olyan volt, mintha a régi hangzáshoz újat adtunk volna. BILL: Hatalmas kihívás volt számunkra, hogy ezt az albumot másmilyenre csináljuk, mint a korábbiakat. TOM: A legnagyobb kihívás az volt, hogy Georg megtanuljon a basszusgitáron játszani. Hahaha.

The World Cup Of Rock: MTV News' Global Challenge Begins Friday! In the spirit of our March Madness competition, we pit rock bands against each other - fans decide who wins!
Every four years, the international community comes together to decide which nation has the most dominant soccer team (or football team, provided that you live anywhere but the United States). The 2010 FIFA World Cup is upon us, and the first matches start in earnest on Friday.
Coincidentally, that's also the day that will see the launch of the 2010 MTV World Cup of Rock tournament. Just as we did with our very popular Musical March Madness matchup, we've taken a huge sporting event and translated it to the music world. And once again, it's up to you the readers to decide which country rocks hardest and best.
The 16 countries that qualified for the World Cup of Rock are grouped into four groups of four teams each. Play will begin on Friday with a matchup between the first two teams, and every day will see a different matchup. Once each team has played the others in its group, the two top seeds from each group will qualify for the bracketed tournament. From there, it's single elimination until one nation is left standing.
Each country will be represented by a contingent of particular artists, but you should consider any group from that particular country eligible for play. The goal of the tournament is to decide just which country rocks hardest and best.
There will be one match every day, with the winners decided by your votes on the MTV Newsroom Blog. Tiebreakers will be decided by the most votes cast for each individual country, so vote for your favorite early and often.
Let's meet the teams!
Group A
France: The French won the World Cup in 1998 and they have another strong chance to score big this year. In order to advance in the World Cup of Rock, they'll have to rely on the likes of Phoenix, Daft Punk, Air and a bevy of better-than-you-think-they-are French hip-hop MCs.
Mexico: The Mexican team has everything: veteran leadership in Carlos Santana, youthful energy from Kinky and an air of big-game cool from Plastilina Mosh.
Nigeria: Powered by Afrobeat (first birthed by the late Fela Kuti and heard everywhere from Talking Heads to Kanye West), these plucky underdogs are capable of anything.
Uruguay: The small South American powerhouse has won two World Cups (including the very first one in 1930) and could be a surprising dark horse this time around. Their representation in the World Cup of Rock essentially consists of one person — Cobra Starship frontman Gabe Saporta — but he's a pretty great guy to have on your front line.
Group B
England: The English do a few things exceptionally well, with soccer and rock just behind drinking and reality television. With Coldplay, Damon Albarn, Muse and Radiohead leading the way, it should be able to assert its dominance early and often.
South Africa: The host nation doesn't have the strongest soccer team but it does have a solid batch of musical representatives, including arena hippie Dave Matthews, prog icon Manfred Mann and tongue-twisting rapper Jean Grae.
South Korea: Though it doesn't have a great shot at the Cup, South Korea has a secret weapon in the World Cup of Rock: His name is Rain (a.k.a. MTV Movie Awards B, and he is a one man dynamo.
United States of America: Easily the favorite, considering that it basically invented rock and roll, and with any number of massive international superstars at its disposal — including the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and 75 percent of Metallica — there's no reason it shouldn't run the table.
Group C
Brazil: The Brazilian soccer team has won more World Cups than any other nation, and they've done it with varied attacks and dynamic stars. Their World Cup of Rock contingent is similarly eclectic and flashy, with the likes of legendary psychedelic rockers Os Mutantes, manic dance troupe CSS and the savagery of Max Cavalera, the man responsible for Sepultura and Soulfly.
Germany: The three-time champions (and seven-time finalists) are one of the favorites to take home the World Cup, and their band contingent is lead by one of the strongest front lines in all of music:Tokio Hotel.But will goalkeeper David Hasselhoff be able to lead them to victory?
Japan: Unorthodoxy is definitely the order of the day for their musical representatives, with metal mavens Dir en Grey, pop sensation Utada, punk veterans Shonen Knife and sugary power poppers Puffy AmiYumi leading the way.
Spain: The perfect blend of past and future, the Spanish contingent has a powerful figurehead in Julio Iglesias (who actually played professional soccer before becoming a pop star) and bright young stars in Alejandro Sanz, Enrique Iglesias and David Bisbal.
Group D
Argentina: They're one of the odds-on favorites to take home the Cup this year, but they are underdogs in the World Cup of Rock.
Australia: The soccer team is called the Socceroos, but the Rockaroos (clever, huh?) should bulldoze the competition with powerhouses like AC/DC, Wolfmother and Jet.
Denmark: Denmark's soccer team plays a pretty loose game, and so do their rock bands. How do you prepare for Mew, the Raveonettes and Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich all at the same time?
Italy: Italy won the World Cup in 2006, besting France in one of the most memorable finals in history. Can a team of mostly hard-edged groups like Lacuna Coil and Starf---ers lead them to victory in the World Cup of Rock?

Kawanku was so lucky to listen to these 4 German boys spill out their feelings. From their school stories, favorite food to their love life.
Kawanku: Hi guys! How are you? Tell us about you latest album's tour promo! Bill: We feel great! We just finish our European tour. So, we've been on the road for three months and we had a lot of great concerts in Europe. We've always wanted to go to Asia and were so excited to see our Asian fans for the first time. It's really fun!
Kawanku: Before Malaysia, where did you guys have a concert? Tom: We just performed an acoustic set in Singapore and we saw our fans there for the first time. That's really good. Even though we were only there for three days, we were really happy.
Kawanku: Is there a difference between you European and Asian fans? Bill: We've performed in Europe and have performed in many European countries. Every time we meet new fans from any country for the first time, we're so happy, but there isn't a difference. Especially when we see them laughing and crying. It's a magic moment.
Kawanku: You guys have lots of Indonesian fans, you know! Tom: Really? Wow, great. Bill: Yeah, it's really cool! When we go places far from home and have fans singing along with us there know all about us, it shocks us. We're really happy to hear it.
Kawanku: You get lots of tweets from you fans in Indonesia? Bill: We heard about that, we've got a lot of support from the internet. But we had no idea we have so many fans there. It's really great.
Kawanku: Have you ever heard of Indonesia? Tom: Of course! But we don't really know much about it. It's our first time in Asia. Umm.. You know, it's a big surprise for us.
Kawanku: Who doesn't have a girlfriend yet? Bill: We're all single, except for Georg.
Kawanku: What kind of girls do you like? Bill: I haven't had a girlfriend for five years, because I haven't found my soulmate yet. I don't have a specific type of girl, but I can see it at first sight. I believe in that, so I'm still waiting. Gustav: I agree with Bill, I don't have a specific type of girl. As long as it works out when I meet her. Georg: There are so many beautiful girls in this world. Tom: Georg is right! It's really hard to say for me. We see beautiful girls everywhere, like in Singapore and at the airport when we just got to Malaysia. Beautiful girls are everywhere in the world, so it's hard to say. I don't care whether the girls is blond or brunette, as long as when I meet her, I can really feel the love. It's not physical, it's all about love. I can feel it.
Kawanku: Do you have any interesting stories to tell from your school days? Bill: We had a really bad time in school. Since we grew up in a small village, we felt like aliens on a foreign planet. We always thought about music, unlike the other kids. I had a lot of troubles with the teachers and other school members. We were really bad in school! Ha ha ha.
Kawanku: How was the process of making you second English album, Humanoid? Bill: For almost a year we were in our studio working on this album. We didn't get any pressure from the record company or anyone else. So we had time to relax, and create our new sound. We tried lots of new things while making this album. For our previous albums, we did them in one studio in Germany, but this time, we did it in different studios in Germany and America, like in Los Angeles and Miami, so we got inspiration from lots of countries. I think Humanoid sounds a lot more electronic than our previous album. Tom: It's like adding new sound to the old sound Bill: It was a big challenge for us to make this album different than our other ones. Tom: My biggest challenge was teaching Georg how to play the bass hahaha.
Kawanku: Ha ha ha! Tom, why do you always make fun of Georg? Georg: That's a good question. Tom: I don't know why. Georg's a funny guy.
Kawanku: Have you guys tried any Asian food? What do you like? Tom: Of course we have! I like noodles and vegetarian sushi. Georg: I like fried rice. Tom: Oh, yeah, me too.
Kawanku: So, when will you come to Indonesia? For a holiday maybe? Tom: That sounds good, yeah, we'll see. Last year we went to the Maldives, a good place for vacation. Bill: We really want to go all around Asia. That would be cool. We want to have all the people who help us with the concerts in Europe to plan some concerts in Asia.
Kawanku: We have some letters and presents from your fans in Indonesia! Bill: What's that? Oh, letters and dolls that look like us! Georg: Wow, that's great. Gustav: Yeah, great!
Kawanku: Well, we're out of time now, is there anything you'd like to say to your Indonesian fans? Bill: We wanna say thank you for your support so far, and we hope you can come with the show. We definitely wanna see all of our fans an play live for them. Thank you very much!

Causing hysteria, cries and shock
The enthusiasm of hundreds of Tokio Hotel fans just never ends. Since the day was bright, till night time, they never stopped their screams and cries. Especially when they actually met them, they got even crazier!
Waiting in line from morning:
Since 9 AM, Tokio Hotel fans were already hanging out in 1 Utama Shopping Center, Kuala Lumpur, where the signing session was held on May 1st. The signing session didn't even start until 11.30. "We came early so we could be the first ones to get their signatures" say Joyce and Panda from Hong Kong. To be able to join the signing session was easy. All we had to do was have a Humanoid CD and bring it along with us.
At exactly 11.30, these four German boys appeared on the small stage, where they would sign hundreds of their fans' CDs, accompanied by their screams. For the whole session, Bill and the boys had a smile on their faces and even answered some of their fans' questions. Their friendliness must have shocked their fans. Some were shouting hysterically, crying uncontrollably and calling people to tell them what happened.
One hour later, the signing session was over. After waving good-bye to their fans, they went back to the hotel through the emergency exit. Kawanku and other fans fought to chase Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg until the security and bodyguards were so overwhelmed. Sadly we couldn't chase the,, but luckily, Kawanku and some other lucky fans still had the chance to meet Tokio Hotel during a meet and greet after the showcase.

Happy but sad
After the showcase was over, at about 11.30 PM, Kawanku and Jade, the winner of our Tokio Hotel quiz and over 50 other meet and greet winners gathered at the Universal music booth to meet Tokio Hotel and get a photo with them backstage. All of the winners seemed happy yet intense at the same time. For almost an hour, Kawanku and Jade waited for teir turn to get a photo. Tired, sweaty, hungry, those feelings were all mixed up. But as we were called to see Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav, it all went away. Unfortunately, the security was pretty tight. We only had three minutes to take a photo, and we weren't allowed to bring our own cameras. That wasn't a problem since they had a professional photographer ready to take our pictures. We felt so happy, yet sad at the same time to be parting with Tokio Hotel. Till we meet again, we're waiting for you in Indonesia!

Non-stop shock!
Sweating, a queasy stomach and a racing heart was what Jade felt when she met her four idols.

"I was buying ice cream, and I suddenly got the call saying I won the Tokio hotel quiz. I sat down and cancelled my order. I was so shocked. After I hung up, I felt like screaming, but I held it in. When I got home, I screamed in my room and jumped on my bed. Luckily, I had permission from my parent before sending in my Tokio hotel artwork, so I was allowed to go to Kuala Lumpur.
It was so intense meeting Tokio Hotel for the first time, wen Kawanku had an interview with them. I kept thinking it was a dream, I was so shocked! I couldn't even say anything, even though there were so many things I wanted to ask them. I was so nervous that Bill and Tom laughed at me, ha ha ha! From the beginning till the end of the interview, I paid close attention to everything they did and every part of their body.
I came with Kawanku to all the Tokio Hotel events. From the interview, press conference, signing session, showcase, to the very last event, which was the meet and greet that made me cry. I was so sad to part with them and not see them again. I couldn't sleep that night, thinking about all the moments when I met Bill, Tom, Georg and Gustav. I can't even explain the feeling. Thanks, Kawanku, for making my dreams come true."
